A freight train derails near Sarla Yard
Sambalpur: Near Sambalpur’s Sarla Yard, a freight train derailed. Around 2:30 PM today, the empty train was en route from Khetrarajpur Junction to Sarla Yard for maintenance. During the journey, one of the train’s wagons derailed on the loop line. The railway department’s official committee arrived on the scene quickly and began recovery efforts. Thankfully, no injuries were reported.

No Disruption to Other Rail Services
The derailment occurred on the loop line, so other rail services were not disrupted, according to the department. Anand Singh, Sambalpur Division’s Additional Divisional Manager, stated that the Sarla Yard is a regular freight train maintenance site. The incident occurred as the train was on its way to a scheduled inspection. Singh assured that recovery work is currently underway and that regular train traffic is unaffected because the derailment occurred on the loop line, away from the main tracks.
