Bharat Bandh in Sambalpur: Shops and markets open, petrol pump closed until 1 p.m.
Sambalpur: A two-day strike has been called for a two-day strike in India today by the Central Workers’ Union. The impact has been felt in Jharsuguda and Brajrajnagar areas, including Sambalpur. The shop market is open. The district judge, magistrate and district magistrate were not allowed to go to the office at Kacheri Chowk in Sambalpur. Clashes have also been observed in front of other government offices and banks in the city. State Bank employees in particular were not allowed to enter the bank. Protesters in Dhanupali, Ainthapali, Lakshmi Takies Square observed the bandh. On behalf of the organizations that observe the bandh, a rally was held to protest the closure of the market and the anti-government rally. The Petrol Pump is closed. vehicles are moving. Sambalpur University and GMU University exams have been canceled. Examinations at other private educational institutions have also been suspended. Trade union members today staged a sit-in protest against the cancellation of four new labor codes, resolving farmers’ issues, raising the minimum wage by Rs 26,000 a month, abolishing privatization and contracting practices, and resolving wages and unemployment. In Sambalpur, members of various labor unions joined the strike and chanted anti-center slogans. In Sambalpur, the two-day strike closed shops, markets and motorbikes, disrupted communters, and reduced some facilities to emergency only staffing.
