Pujari also stated that the government’s failure to include Nuakhai in the official calendar while granting holidays for other social events is extremely unfortunate. He demanded that those responsible for this negligence within the state administration be held accountable and face appropriate consequences.
Pujari noted in his letter that neighboring states like Chhattisgarh and Jharkhand also celebrate Nuakhai, and he urged the Odisha government to correct this error by officially recognizing Nuakhai with a three-day holiday each year. He also urged the government to issue an immediate directive in this regard.
Pujari reiterated his full support for all social organizations, political groups, and individuals who oppose the government’s neglectful treatment of Nuakhai. He made his position clear in a press statement, urging the government to take immediate action to preserve Western Odisha’s cultural traditions.
