A devastating plane crash in Nepal has resulted in the deaths of 18 people. Only the pilot survived. Authorities at Kathmandu’s Tribhuvan International Airport confirmed the recovery of 18 bodies from the crash site.
Incident Details
The ill-fated plane, a CRJ7 operated by Saurya Airlines, took off from Kathmandu heading to Pokhara. The crash occurred at 11 a.m. today. Shortly after takeoff, the plane veered to the right and crashed at the east end of the runway. The aircraft caught fire, triggering a swift emergency response to extinguish the blaze and carry out rescue operations. However, 18 lives were lost.

Pilot’s Condition
Remarkably, the 37-year-old pilot, Manish Sakya, was the sole survivor. He was rescued in critical condition and has been admitted to Sinamangal KMC Hospital for treatment.
Technical Staff on Board
Officials from Tribhuvan Airport clarified that only technical staff from the airline were on board, with no passengers present. The exact cause and circumstances of the crash remain unclear.
