Breaking News: Mo Bus Accident Near Khordha, 20 Injured (Video)
On Saturday morning, a Mo Bus going from Bhubaneswar to Khordha slid into a roadside ditch at Pitapali Square in the Khordha district, injuring at least 20 persons, some gravely.
According to eyewitnesses, the bus carrying approximately 30 passengers drove off the road when the driver apparently lost control of the steering wheel. The hit forced the bus to tip over into a roadside drain.
“The mishap occurred as a result of reckless driving,” explained one injured passenger at the site. The bus driver reportedly fled immediately following the crash.
In the aftermath, a large crowd of citizens and commuters gathered at the scene to rescue the trapped passengers by breaking the bus’s windows. While some injured were taken to Khordha District Headquarters Hospital, those who were badly injured were transferred to hospitals in Bhubaneswar for further treatment.
“We don’t know how the accident happened. The police control room did not respond immediately. “Some people eventually helped us by breaking the glass windows,” said another injured passenger.
Authorities have initiated an investigation into the cause of the accident. At least ten passengers are said to be in critical condition, with two being extremely serious. More details awaited on this developing situation.
