Annual Observance and Remembrance
The Indian government has now decided to observe Constitution Killers Day on June 25th each year. On this day, those who suffered inhumane treatment during the emergency will be remembered for their significant contributions. The goal of this decision is to honor the sacrifices of countless people who fought for the revival of democracy despite the oppressive measures of the authoritarian regime. This day will serve to keep the eternal flame of democracy and individual freedom alive among Indians.
Prime Minister Modi’s Remarks
According to Prime Minister Modi, June 25 will serve as a reminder to citizens of the conditions that the country faced after the constitution was destroyed. This is a day to remember all those who endured immense suffering during the emergency. The country will always remember Congress’ oppressive measures as a dark chapter in Indian history.
