Chandi Medha will Shine in Sambalpur Sital Sasti : Cuttack artisans are making at a cost of Rs 1 crore
This year, the chandi medha will shine in city of Sambalpur Sital Sasti .The Medha will cost around Rs 1 crore. For two years now, due to covid, festivals are faded artisans no longer have the opportunity but now smile put on the face of frustrated artisans.
Pankaj Kumar Sahu, a craftsman from Stony Road in Cuttack’s Dagarpada area, has taken over the medha preparation work. There are 10 artisans employed to make the chandi Medha. Pankaj won the Presidential Award in 18 years as a star artisan. Not only the Chandi Medha, but also during the Hockey World Cup, he was in the spotlight. Pankaj, who lost his left hand in an accident 20 years ago, has set an example by maintaining this stellar work.
“It’s been two years since the artisans were completely disappointed, but this work put a smile on the face of artisans” he said. Cuttack’s star work is world famous.
