Incident at Khetrajpur Railway Station
Sambalpur: This afternoon in Sambalpur, a group of migrant workers from Howrah, West Bengal, faced mob aggression soon after arriving by the Ispat Express train. The situation turned hostile at Khetrajpur station when one worker stepped off the train and was suddenly attacked by a group of locals.
Targeted for Belonging to a Particular Community
Several workers, reportedly from a specific community, were opposed and beaten as soon as they disembarked. Locals opposed their presence and violently attacked them.

More Tension at Beheramunda Chowk
As the workers walked from the station towards the city, the group was again verbally abused and beaten near Beheramunda Chowk. Locals warned them to return to West Bengal.
Similar Incident at Ainthapali Chowk
Another group of workers who got off at Ainthapali Chowk also faced strong opposition and threats.
Police Response
When asked about the incident, SDPO Tofan Bag said that no formal complaint had been received from any party. However, acting on intelligence, police took initiative and detained three youths involved in the attack. After issuing a warning, the police released them.
