Cooch Behar Trophy: Haryana 466 for 5 by second day
Sambalpur: On the strength of Mayank Sandilya and Sarvesh Rohilla, the Haryana team collected 466 runs for the loss of 5 wickets by the end of the second day’s play. Haryana has led Odisha by 272 runs in the Cooch Behar Trophy match at VSS Stadium, Sambalpur. Haryana’s 2 opening batsmen Mayank and Samantha Jakhar started the second day’s play with a team score of 78 runs. Samantha scored 50 runs (66 balls, 9 fours, 1 six) in 117 runs and became the first player to get out. There was a 120-run partnership between May and skipper Nishant Sundhu for the second wicket. Nishant scored 63 runs (100 balls, 8 fours, 2 sixes) and fell victim to Abhinav. Parth Vats was dismissed for just 5 runs while May scored 129 runs (194 balls, 16 fours, 4 sixes) for Haryana and became the fourth player to be dismissed. Sarbesh Rohilla and Yashvardhan Dalal managed the innings after Ayush Khamar was dismissed for the fifth wicket after scoring just 10 runs. By the end of the second day, Sarbesh Rohilla scored 118* runs (147 balls, 12 fours, 3 fours) and Yashvardhan Dalal was unbeaten with 86* runs (110 balls, 11 fours, 1 fours). The maximum partnership between the two is 183 runs. On behalf of Odisha, Swayam Rautrai has taken maximum 2 wickets while Abhinav Nand, Saidip Mohapatra, Ritesh Priya Ranjan have taken one wicket each. The Odisha team was all out for 194 runs on the first day.
