Court contempt case against Sambalpur University Chancellor, notice to appear in High Court

Sambalpur: Sambalpur University Chancellor Prof Sanjeev Mittal’s audacity in the contempt of court case is likely to escalate. The Hon’ble Odisha High Court has issued a notice to appear before the High Court at 10.30 am on the 23rd. However, it will be fine if he does not appear but the order clearly states why he will not appear before the High Court in person or through his lawyer or through his agent should give explanation, in the case of contempt of court. It also asked why the High Court would not issue an order for appropriate action. The High Court has also made it clear that if it fails to state the reason for the above, the High Court will take appropriate action in accordance with the law.
