Sambalpur: Criminals Gone Wild; Chasing and Killing Victims After Looting in Sambalpur

Sambalpur: Criminals in Sambalpur have become increasingly daring, challenging the police with their brave acts. Early this morning at around 4:30 AM, two young men attacked and robbed 32-year-old Ramesh Kisan, a resident of Brahmanipali village and a driver by profession. The incident occurred on a road connecting the National Highway with Saralakani Chowk while traveling from Sakhipada.

Robbery and Attempted Assault

Ramesh was traveling along the road when the two young men who had been waiting in the ambush stopped him and launched an attack with a sharp weapon. The thieves rob his phone and ₹700. The attackers also attempted to assault him further, hitting his legs with the weapon. To save his life, Ramesh jumped off a nearby bridge. Despite being injured, he survived the attack. The Dhanupali police have already begun an investigation into the case.

Afternoon Stabbing Incident at Kumbharpada

A separate incident occurred around 2:00 PM today near Kumbharpada when two young men were stabbed after resisting a robbery attempt. A group of young men lured the victims to a location near the Lions Club and attempted to rob them. When the victims protested, the assailants began stabbing them. However, locals witnessed the incident and intervened, forcing the attackers to flee.

The injured individuals were rushed to the District Headquarters Hospital for treatment. The victims filed a complaint with the Town Police Station, and an investigation is now underway.

These two incidents reflect a growing trend of criminal activity in Sambalpur, raising concerns about public safety and law enforcement’s ability to respond to such threats.
