Dr. Sujatarani Mishra, CDMO, announced that the CT scan service will begin once the technicians arrive and install the machine. The availability of CT scan facilities at Sambalpur DHH is a positive development. Previously, patients coming to DHH had a difficult time getting CT scans. They also had to pay huge costs. This healthcare inconvenience, as expressed by the general public, will be resolved with the implementation of the CT scan at DHH.
Sambalpur DHH
The DHH in Sambalpur is the only place for the general public in the district to receive advanced medical facilities. Moreover, patients from neighboring districts often come here for treatment at various times. Currently, more than 1,000 patients come to DHH daily for treatment, while approximately 300 patients are admitted. For body examinations due to accidents or other reasons, only X-ray facilities are available at DHH. In such situations, CT scans are essential for detecting internal injuries.

Since DHH lacks a CT scan facility, patients and their relatives face various problems. They have to transport patients to private facilities, spending thousands of rupees for CT scans. If this facility becomes operational at DHH, it will solve the problem of inadequate medical facilities, as expressed by the general public.
Welcome Development
The implementation of the CT scan facility at DHH is a positive step. However, the health department must take the necessary steps to ensure that people can use this service comfortably once it is operational. Although DHH already has several examination facilities, including X-ray services, they are not functioning properly due to a variety of issues and negligence, as reported by the public.
