Cyber fraud in the name of Booster dose
Mumbai and Hyderabad police have warned of cyber fraud, especially in the case of senior citizens, in the name of cowboy vaccine booster doses. Police have warned people to be careful and not fall into the trap of fraud.
The new fraudulent method calls for senior citizens to identify themselves as employees. They ask if they have taken two doses “Sometimes you have two vaccinations and now you are eligible for a booster,” fraud said. The caller sometimes asks for Senior citizens’ age, date of birth, address, and Aadhaar number. “Once the senior citizen agrees to take the booster, the date and center of the vaccine will also increase confidence.” Then says you have to register Half an hour later, an OTP arrives then senior citizen’s bank account is emptied after paying the OTP.
