Sambalpur: Debasish Nanda takes over as Director – Business Development of CIL

Sambalpur: Debashis Nand has been appointed as the Director (Business Development) of Coal India India Limited (CIL). Prior to taking office, he worked as a director (gas) at the Indian Oil Company. After graduating BTech from Burla University College of Engineering (now acting as VSSUT), Mr. Nand obtained his M.Tech. from REC Rourkela (now NIT). He holds an International Masters Degree from IIFT Delhi. Mr. Nand started his career as a management trainee in the marketing division of Indian Oil on the 1988 and was in the marketing department of Surveillance for 11 years. He joined Business Development on the 1999 and Indian Oil on Gas in 2009. He served as the head of Indian Oil’s natural gas business, bringing in Rs 20,000 crore. He took on many more important responsibilities. He was the chairman of the US-India Energy Task Force. He also served as the head of the RLNG pipeline project to Bangladesh and Sri Lanka.
