Sambalpur: District Collector Intervenes, Road Construction Resumes After Six-Month Delay
Sambalpur: The long-delayed construction of the road from Bareipali to Dengsargi in Sambalpur has finally resumed, following intervention by District Collector Siddheshwar Baliram Bondar. The construction work, which started in June, was left incomplete by the contractor, causing immense hardship for the local residents.
Delayed Work Causes Inconvenience
The Public Works Department (PWD) had issued a tender for the road project, and the contractor initially began preparing the site in June by compacting soil and leveling the road. However, the work abruptly stopped with only four days of construction remaining. This left the villagers in at least ten nearby areas struggling during the monsoon season, as the incomplete road became muddy and unfit for use.
