DL and RC will be available online
No longer have to wait for the postman to get the delivery driver’s license or registration (RRC) or other documents. Under the new system, applicants can be downloaded from a special portal from January 1. The Department of Commerce and Transport will develop a special software for this, which will be developed by NIC.
On July 24, 2009, the state government issued a Smart Card Driving License (DL), Vehicle Registration Certificate (RRC), Paper Learner License, RC Book, Trade Certificate, Fitness Certificate and Permit and Transport Service. The agreement expires on July 28 this year. However, the deadline has been extended to December 31. The state government is currently focusing on “5-T” initiatives to bring about comprehensive reforms in transport and vehicle-related services. In this regard, the department is focusing on providing uninterrupted services to the public at the end of the term of SmartChips Limited. According to a senior official in the Department of Transportation, we currently have a website for online services. So after the company leaves, the portal is being created for the purpose of providing uninterrupted service. This will allow DL RC and all other documents to be downloaded. After the RTO process is complete, a message will be sent to the applicant’s mobile phone and the applicant will be able to download it at his or her convenience. People can download both PDF and plastic card formats. Soft copies of it can be stored on mobile, computer or online. The DL, RC and other certificates to be downloaded will have digital signatures or e-signatures. This can save people time and money. He said the new system would take effect from January 1.
The state government is going to introduce a new provision from January 1 under Section 211 (a) of the Motor Vehicles Act, Section 181 (2) of the Central Motor Vehicles Act. It is worth noticing that the Department of Transportation has undergone a major change in its services. However, the smart card, DL RC, and other documents were not made available on time, even though they were being prepared on time. It is also not possible to collect directly from the RTO. At this point the public was suffering. So many problems are expected to be solved in the new system.
