Dr Diptibala Pattnaik Passes Away
Dr Deeptibala Patnaik, a well-known social worker and retired joint director of the state health department, died on Thursday at 12.15 p.m. in a private hospital in Bhubaneswar.Her death has cast a shadow of mourning over Sambalpur.
Born in 1939 in Kalyanpur, Cuttack, Diptiwala’s workplace was Sambalpur. After retiring from health care, she dedicated his life to the service of the poor, helpless and neglected, associated with various social, cultural, spiritual and service institutions in Sambalpur. She has also been instrumental in women’s empowerment. After completing his education at SBC Medical College, he joined ESI Hospital in Brajrajnagar. she was married to former MP Fallen Pawan Pradhan. After working for two years in Brajrajnagar, he joined the Sambalpur District General Hospital and worked until 195. she then worked at hospitals in Titlagarh and Balangir for some time. she later went to Kolkata to study Public Health. Returning from Kolkata,she once again joined the Sambalpur District Malaria Officer. she joined the state health service as joint director after taking over as CDMO of Sambalpur and Sundargarh districts. she retired in 2001 and joined the Sambalpur government as a director of the Danish government’s leprosy control program in 2001.
After a career, she devoted himself to social work. she has been the Vice-Chairman of the Sambalpur District Red Cross Society and the Chairman of the Child Welfare Committee for many years. However, she was living with his daughter in Bhubaneswar after feeling ill. Diptibala leaves behind her 4 daughters Tanmaya, Mami, Mita and Mamali. Her last rites were performed at Puri Swargadwar today.
