Sambalpur: Dr. Ramchandani Donates Award Money to Cancer Patients
Sambalpur: Dr. Shankar Ramchandani, known for his one rupee clinic, has once again showcased his humanitarian side. At an award ceremony, he donated the prize money he received to impoverished cancer patients. Ramchandani has donated 5,000 rupees each to 10 patients.
Dr. Shankar Ramchandani, an Assistant Professor in the Medicine Department at Vimsar, was recently honored with the Padma Shri Radhamohan Memorial Award at a ceremony held at Jayadev Bhavan. He was recognized for his efforts in agriculture, where he fought to ban paraquat and reduce farmer death rates through a hunger strike, and for providing healthcare to poor patients through a one-rupee clinic. As a result of his notable contributions to agriculture and healthcare, he was awarded the Padma Shri Radhamohan Memorial Award along with a cash prize of 50,000 rupees.
