Approaching Festival Amid Uncertainty
With the Sharadiya Durga Puja approaching, there is no mandap for Maa Bhuvaneshwari’s worship. The Durga Puja committee and residents are deeply concerned about this situation. Furthermore, the road’s ongoing construction is not yet complete, adding to the community’s concerns.
Community Demands a New Mandap
The old Haradajor Bridge and the Gobindtola settlement are accessible via two roads from Gobindtola Square. Surya Panigrahi, president of the social organization ‘Sadhana,’ has issued a press statement demanding that the administration close the road to the previous mandap site and build a new mandap for Maa Bhuvaneshwari. He recommends taking the other road to get to the Gobindtola settlement.
Concerned parties have urged the district administration to act quickly and connect the main road to the settlement road while ensuring the construction of the new mandap.
