Financial Outlay for the Initiative
The total cost of setting up these KVs and expanding one existing KV is estimated at Rs. 5,872.08 crore, spread over an eight-year timeline starting from 2025-26. The fund allocation includes:
- Capital Expenditure: Rs. 2,862.71 crore for infrastructure development.
- Operational Expenditure: Rs. 3,009.37 crore for day-to-day functioning and other needs.
Objective of the Initiative
This decision highlights the government’s commitment to providing quality education through Kendriya Vidyalayas in regions that require enhanced educational facilities. The move will cater to the needs of children in underserved areas, including regions like Angul, Balangir, and Sambalpur.
Positive Impact for Odisha
The establishment of these KVs will bridge educational gaps, especially in semi-urban and rural parts of the state. Moreover, it will create opportunities for students to access quality education, foster all-round development, and promote inclusivity in learning.
With this approval, Odisha is set to witness a significant boost in educational resources, ensuring better opportunities for students in these regions.
