Sambalpur: The main roads of the city are deplorable, The Department is not coordinating

Sambalpur’s major roads and streets are deplorable. Such a situation has arisen due to the lack of coordination between the departments of the administration, the enforcement department, and the Sambalpur Metropolitan Corporation. On the other hand, due to the negligence of the Department of Repair and Construction, the road works have been falling for years instead of being completed. The Durgapali Railway Overbridge within the major road has already exceeded the scheduled time. The Dhanupali road to Jail Chowk road work has not started. Sakhipada road has not been completed for 3 years Ainthapali-Budharaja road work cannot be started on schedule.

The city has taken up major road works through the Sambalpur Division. SMC is in charge of roads and streets. Not only that. It has been seen that the project is being repaired less than 6 months after its construction. In some spans, the old work is not completed but the work is being done with the New grant. It is alleged that there is a financial loss of crores of rupees. Dilapidated roads throughout the city. There is no good road anywhere. The city has major roads. From Laxmi Takies to Railway Station, Budharaja Ainthapali, Ashoka Takies to Sarlakani. From Thakurpada to Panchgachia to Khetrajpur to Remed, Jail Street to Mulcipality Street to Sakhipada Dhankuada Street, people are living.

The road traffic is in such a state of disrepair that the busy roads of the city are such that one can easily perceive the developed city as an outsider. A year later, tenders were called and work began. Even after a year has passed since the start of the work, it is still not possible to measure how wide the road will be. On the other hand, due to the frequent bursting of pipes, people are struggling to drink water. The contractor’s policy has been accused of causing problems. In the same way, the road from Budharaja has already been tendered. The work could not be started till today. SMC’s procurement process is done with only tree cutting. However, it is not known why the work has not started. On the other hand, the contractor is being warned or informed by the department to complete the work.
