Fake Gold Sold at Alankar Jewellers
According to official reports, Alankar Jewellers in Sambalpur sells fake gold. After failing quality checks, the government revoked their license. The action was taken on April 14, following an investigation. Despite the hallmark markings, the shop was found to be selling counterfeit gold ornaments. The government has intervened to combat this malpractice, ensuring consumer protection.
Similar Fraud at Ambika Jewellers, Kuchinda
In another case, Ambika Jewellers in Kuchinda faced allegations of selling fake gold. Reports presented in the Assembly revealed that the store operated without proper registration, selling both hallmark and non-hallmark gold ornaments. Customers unknowingly purchased fake or low-quality gold due to this fraudulent practice.
