Sambalpur: Formation of 9-Member Committee at Vimsar Following Health Minister’s Advice, First Meeting Today

The committee’s purpose is to understand and address all problems at the institution.

Sambalpur: In response to the ongoing issues at Vimsar, Dr. Mukesh Mahaling, the newly appointed Health Minister, recently directed the hospital authorities to form an independent committee. This committee will address and resolve all existing issues to ensure Vimsar’s efficient management and patient care. Following the Minister’s directive, a 9-member committee was formed, and its first meeting is scheduled for today.

According to sources, the committee, chaired by VIMSAR Director Professor Bhavagrahi Rath, consists of experts from various hospital and medical college departments. Members of the committee are responsible for identifying and resolving issues in their respective areas. The committee will act immediately if the hospital authorities fail to address any issues. Matters requiring government approval will be discussed during committee meetings and forwarded for approval.

The committee’s prompt action is expected to result in a swift resolution to VIMSAR’s long-standing issues. The committee consists of Professor Dr. Pradeep Kumar Mohanty (Chairman), Medical Superintendent Professor Dr. Lalmohan Nayak, Cardiology Professor Dr. Sunil Sharma, Pediatrics Professor Dr. Prakash Chandra Panda, Anesthesiology Professor Dr. Bimalkrushna Panda, Anatomy Professor Dr. Mamata Sar, Dentistry Department Professor Dr. Prashanta Swain, and Urology Department Head Professor Dr. Sanjay Mahapatra.

The first meeting will be dedicated to identifying priority issues and outlining the steps necessary to resolve them. This initiative is expected to significantly improve the functioning and patient services at Vimsar.
