Minister Patra also shared updates on the ongoing e-KYC verification for ration cards in Odisha. He mentioned that around 2.30 crore verifications have been completed so far, but about one crore are still pending. The government plans to finish the remaining verifications in the next 15 to 20 days. After this, new ration cards will be issued to those who are eligible.
Earlier, Minister Patra had assured that the e-KYC process will continue until every applicant is verified. Once completed, false ration cards will be identified and removed, ensuring that only eligible beneficiaries receive new cards.
The Odisha government had previously stated that new ration cards will only be issued to those who qualify after Aadhaar-based e-KYC verification.
