Sambalpur: Gangadhar Mandap to Light Up with Dance and Music on Sambalpuri Day, Varnali Hota as the Main Attraction

Sambalpur: A significant craze currently surrounds Sambalpuri Day, celebrated on August 1 to promote Sambalpuri language, culture, and arts both within and outside of the state. In this context, the Sambalpuri Ekta Manch has organized a large event. Details of the program were announced today at a press conference held at the Sambadik Bhavan. The event will include a variety of activities, including Sambalpuri poetry, songs, and dances.

Main Attraction: Varnali Hota

The event will be headlined by renowned singer Varnali Hota, who has appeared on television shows such as Sa Re Ga Ma Pa, Dil Hai Hindustani, and Bharat Ke Amrit Kalash. Other well-known singers and performers will also attend the event.

Celebrating Guru Satyanarayan Bohidar

The information indicates that people observe Sambalpuri Day on the birthday of Guru Satyanarayan Bohidar, a prominent Sambalpuri literary figure. Various events will take place at Gangadhar Mandap, continuing the tradition of previous years. The program will run from 2 to 10 p.m. and will feature Sambalpuri dance, music, food, and cultural performances, as well as Sambalpuri attire and crafts. The event will begin with poetry recitals and Varshali Hota’s solo performance. Additionally, artists from Sambalpur Kala Kendra and students from various schools will perform Sambalpuri folk dances.

Performances by Local Artists

The event will feature prominent Sambalpuri music artists such as Ankit Raj, Kamlesh Chakrabarty, Saismita Nayak, Priyadarshini Nath, Surya Guru, Tularam Kelet, Ishwari Behera, and Hamid Rehman, among others. Varnali Hota, renowned playwright Brajendra Nath Nayak, and Sambalpuri folk culture researcher Tularam Kelet will receive the Sambalpuri Samman at this event.

Key Dignitaries to Attend

Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Suresh Pujari, Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr. Mukesh Mahaling, Panchayati Raj, Drinking Water Supply, and Rural Development Minister Ravi Nayak, and Sambalpur MLA and Sambalpuri Ekta Manch patron Jaynarayan Mishra, among others, will attend the event, as announced during the press conference. Event president Sameer Ranjan Babu, editor Surya Guru, coordinator Dr. Sanjeev Kumar Mishra, cultural editor Kamal Lochan Panda, treasurer Arun Kumar Das, Ramashankar Mishra, Gopal Agrawal, Sairendra Purohit, Paraj Ali Khan, and Swayanjit Pattnaik attended the press conference.
