Sambalpur: The Goods and Services Tax (GST) Department, Sambalpur Division-1, has launched a GST Awareness Van. This van aims to educate all businessmen and taxpayers about timely GST return filings. It will also promote the GST Amnesty Scheme 2024, which offers relief to businesses with pending tax dues.
Key Messages for Taxpayers
The van will raise awareness about filing GST returns such as GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B. Importantly, it reminds taxpayers about the deadlines: the 11th and 20th of the next month, respectively.
Moreover, under the GST Amnesty Scheme 2024, businesses with demand notices issued for FY 2017-18, 2018-19, and 2019-20 under Section 73 can benefit. They can pay only the tax amount while penalties and interest are waived. The scheme encourages online applications for availing this relief.

The launch event saw the participation of several dignitaries, including Additional Commissioner Tuladhar Bhoi, Joint Commissioner Ashish Kumar Sahu, Lingaraj Pradhan, Enforcement Joint Commissioner Kulamani Bhue, Sambalpur Division-2 Joint Commissioner Pratap Panigrahi, and businessman representatives such as Ashok Kumar Jalan, Chamber of Commerce President Jasbir Singh Hura, Business Association President Shib Prasad Sahu, and Tax Bar Association President Pradeep Mishra.
