Helpless widow accused Tenants of harassment , suicide warning in front of district attorney’s office

Sambalpur: Tenants have been accused of harassing helpless women . The widow has filed harassment complaint against tenants for failing to pay rent for six months. She ran to the district attorney’s office, the deputy district attorney’s office, and the SP. She warned that if he did not get justice, he would commit suicide.

According to sources, Nandini Mukherjee, a 60-year-old Dibyang woman from Laxmi Takies Chowk under Sambalpur Town Police Station, was staying at the house. Sanjeev Sarkar and his brothers have been living in his house for 20 years. “For the past six months, they have not been paying rent and have not left their homes,” Nandini said. He even threatened to kill her if she asked for a rent. The house has a lease, official papers but still she didn’t get justice. Sanjeev Sarkar, 50, a tenant in the house, said the house was on government land. This is a new plot. He has been living here with his family for several years. The woman has the lease of this house, he argued that it may have been a fake lease. He said he had been threatened with eviction at various times.

Police have also arrested Sanjeev Sarkar on charges of assaulting a woman. However, the woman, who was tired of fighting for justice, said she would commit suicide in front of the district magistrate’s office if justice was not done. On the other hand, the question arises as to why Sanjeev has been renting a woman’s house for 20 years if he said that the house was his own. Isn’t the Sanjeev trying to grab the land by looking at the helpless women?
