Honda to Begin Production of Activa Electric at Year’s End, Launch Expected in Early 2025
There is excellent news for activator lovers. In fact, Honda will begin production of the popular scooter Activa E in Karnataka by December 2024. It is expected to launch on the market in early 2025. New competitors to the Honda Activa EV, including the Ather 450X, Ola S1, and TVS iQube, will enter the market. This scooter is expected to be a mid-range model with a fixed battery.
The Japanese two-wheeler manufacturer has already filed patents for EV technology such as batteries, motors, controllers, and chargers. These patents show that the next Honda electric scooter will have a fixed battery and a hub motor in the back wheel. Honda wants to add battery-changing facilities at its 6,000 touch locations. Honda is constructing a state-of-the-art factory in Narsapura, Karnataka, to produce the electric Activa. The plant will create 1 million electric scooters by 2030.
