The Indian skipper achieved the feat against Afghanistan during Match 9 of the ICC World Cup 2023 at Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi.

With the hit, he created records of most hundreds in World Cup, most sixes in International cricket, most sixes by an Indian in World Cup, most runs in Powerplay for India in an ODI match and the fastest hundred by an Indian in World Cup history. He also managed to surpass the records of Sachin Tendulkar and Kapil Dev with his 131knock on Wednesday to ensure India a comfortable 8-wicket victory. Following the innings enthralled fans said, ‘next is 150’.
