In India Today survey Sambalpur district is the Overall best in the state

It has been surveyed by India Today magazine for the last 5 years. These include economics, livestock agriculture, education, health and safety, social security, public education, industry, skills development, digital cutting and sanitation. Judging by the above categories, Sambalpur district has bagged the best overall award in the best performing district category. Among the best performing districts, Jharsuguda district in western Odisha has been awarded in the vegetable category and in the industry category, while in the agricultural category, Bargarh district has won. Similarly, Koraput district has been awarded overall in the most advanced district category. Among the most advanced districts are West Odisha in the Gijibhumi category in Bargarh, Balangir in the education category, Sundargarh in the skills development category and Kalahandi district in the sanitation category. Among the most prosperous districts in western Odisha are Bargarh in the infrastructure category, Balangir in the education category, Sundargarh in the skills development category and Kalahandi district in the sanitation category. Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Friday graced the Sambalpur District Magistrate Divyajyoti Parida as the chief guest at the ‘State of B Odisha’ organized by the magazine Hara at KIT Prakash. Chief Secretary Suresh Mohapatra was the guest of honor at the event.
