Bengaluru: Ban on Coloured Cabbage Manchurian and Cotton Candy in Karnataka. On Monday, the Karnataka Health Department banned the sale of these two items in the state. These 2 products contain Rhodamine-B which is harmful to health. So it will no longer be sold. In a press conference, state health minister Dinesh Gundurao expressed concern over the addition of harmful chemicals in various food products and emphasized eating healthy food.
He said that the officials collected around 171 samples of Cabbage Manchurian and Bombay Ladoo from various restaurants. Research has shown that these two foods contain 107 types of dyes, which contain rhodamine-B and other chemicals. It has now been banned as it has been found to be harmful to the body. Strict action will be taken against any hotels found using it after the ban. Their licenses will be revoked with a jail term of 7 years. Dinesh Gundurao said that people who make Cabbage Manchurian at home should not use any kind of color.
