Sambalpur: Incident of Youth Chaos on the Highway; Why Such Leniency Towards the Accused?

Sambalpur: The recent incident of reckless driving on a national highway has raised concerns about the leniency extended to some of the accused. Burla police arrested Sunny Yadav (34), a youth BJD leader from Sambalpur, and brought him before the court two days ago. However, public opinion suggests that the police are treating other involved parties too leniently.

Police arrested Sunny Yadav, a resident of Padmakeshari Park near Mudipada in Sambalpur, as the main accused and owner of the vehicle involved. However, at the time of the incident, the police appeared hesitant to take action against those driving the vehicles, causing widespread concern. Reports state that two minors were driving the vehicle during the incident, and sources claim that one of them is closely related to a highly influential person in the city. This connection allegedly prompted the police to remain silent on the matter.

Unanswered Questions Remain

The situation has sparked speculation about whether the police were fully aware of who was driving the car during their interrogation of Sunny Yadav. Despite knowing the facts, they have taken no significant action against the other accused. This has raised concerns about potential hidden reasons for the delay in arresting the other individuals involved.

Public Reaction

On the night of the incident, a group of young men were recklessly driving two vehicles—a Fortune car (OD 31M 5009) and a Mahindra XUV700 (OD 23R 5009)—deliberately breaking traffic laws and endangering the lives of others. A video of the incident was recorded and later shared on social media, bringing the subject to public attention.

The public is now asking why only Sunny Yadav was arrested and why the other suspects have yet to be apprehended. The apparent leniency shown to the other accused has raised suspicions of favoritism, leaving many unanswered questions about the investigation’s credibility.
