Sambalpur: Sambalpur is set to get its first ‘Khao Gali’ (Food Street) soon, following the model of cities like Cuttack and Bhubaneswar. This initiative by the Sambalpur Municipal Corporation (SMC) aims to relocate food stalls from roadsides to a designated area, reducing traffic congestion and providing a better dining experience for residents and visitors.
Opening Location and Timeline
The food street will open along the stretch from Jail Chowk to Municipality Chowk. The preparations are nearly complete, and it is expected to be inaugurated within a week. Shubhadipta Mohanty, the Deputy Commissioner of SMC, confirmed the plan and highlighted its benefits.

The ‘Khao Gali’ will provide a centralized location for all food vendors, offering visitors a variety of food options in one place.
