Kuchinda: Husband kills wife in Axe over domestic dispute

Kuchinda: Husband stabs wife to death in axe over domestic dispute. The incident took place in Kisanpada, Ward No. 11, Kuchinda town, Sambalpur district. Govind Majhi, 45, a resident of the area, allegedly stabbed his wife, Damyanti Majhi, 47, to death in axe at around 3pm on Tuesday. Upon hearing the news, police arrived at the scene and seized the body and are investigating.

According to sources, Govinda Majhi arrived home in the afternoon drunk and asked the woman to give food.There was a shouting between the two over this. In a fit of rage, Govind hit in a axe in the head of damayanti. Damyanti died at the scene. Kuchinda IIC Shobhakar Seth, SDPO Raj Kishore Mishra and other police officers arrived at the spot and are investigating. The autopsy will be performed at Kuchinda Sub-Divisional Hospital tomorrow. Govinda and Damyanti have two sons. Police are questioning after Govinda arrest. Two children have been left homeless after their mother’s death and their father’s imprisonment.
