Lakhs worth of goods were stolen in front of the police station

Three locks of Mahabir Lubricant shop, just 50 meters from Dhama police station, were broken and items worth around Rs 4 lakh were stolen. The shop owner, Debashis Patnaik, has lodged a written complaint with the police. According to CCTV footage, a white van came to a halt at 2:05 a.m. Saturday. One of the miscreants is coming down and breaking the 3 locks in the shop one by one and entering the shop. According to Debashis, the miscreants stole 200 bike tires, a mobile phone worth around Rs 1 lakh and 70 kg of grease from his shop.
Police patrols are not in order
From few days patrolling is not done properly in that area. That’s why criminal activity is on the rise in the police station area, people say. On the other hand, people are questioning who will be able to go elsewhere if the lock is broken and stolen 50 meters from the police station. Locals also demanded that police patrols should be tightened.
