Sambalpur: Lok Mahotsav 2025 to Begin in Sambalpur from January 4; Organized by Odisha Government’s Department of Language, Literature and Culture
Sambalpur: The much-awaited Lok Mahotsav 2025, set for January in Sambalpur, is being organized by Odisha’s Department of Language, Literature, and Culture along with the District Cultural Council to showcase the state’s rich cultural heritage and traditions.
Pallishree Mela: A Showcase of Rural Excellence
A major highlight of the Lok Mahotsav is the Pallishree Mela, which will run from January 4 to January 12, 2025. This mela is being organized by the Panchayati Raj and Drinking Water Department, with active collaboration from ORMAS (Odisha Rural Development and Marketing Society). From dawn to late night, the event will remain a bustling hub for cultural and economic exchange, starting at 10:00 AM and continuing until 10:00 PM.
Adding a cultural spark to the event, the Eastern Cultural Centre, Kolkata, will perform on January 4-6, 2025, while the festival provides rural artisans and producers a platform to showcase and sell their traditional crafts, handlooms, and organic products.

Youth Festival: A Stage for Emerging Talents
With a focus on empowering youth, the Youth Festival, scheduled for January 7 and 8, 2025, promises to infuse the Lok Mahotsav with energy and creativity. The Panchayati Raj Department will host the festival at the iconic Veer Birsa Munda Ground (PHD Field) in Ainthapali, Sambalpur.
