Sambalpur: Major Reshuffle in Sambalpur Police; Five Police Officers Transferred, But Khetrajpur IIC Retains Position
Sambalpur: Five police station in-charges (IICs) have been transferred. Rengali IIC, Sudarshan Panda, has been moved to Bareipali; Hirakud IIC, Shrikant Sahu, to Burla; Bareipali IIC, Pradyumna Kumar Swain, to Ainthapali; Burla IIC, Anil Kumar Pradhan, to Rengali; and Ainthapali IIC, Sanay Kumar Nayak, has been transferred to Hirakud police station.
However, questions are being raised as to why the controversial Khetrajpur IIC continues to receive sympathy and remains in his position. In the last few months, there have been three attempts to transfer him. Yet, despite the controversies, the Khetrajpur IIC has managed to keep his post.

Controversies Surrounding Khetrajpur IIC
Several incidents have sparked debate about his performance, including thefts, illegal liquor trade, tensions during five secretaries’ visits, group clashes, and a suicide attempt by a Congress leader. His handling of these matters has raised questions about his competence. The IIC was also reportedly involved in a recent controversy at the Samaleswari Temple.
The public has openly criticized the IIC’s lack of action on social media. Regardless of these criticisms, it remains unclear which “shield of protection” is preventing his transfer. This has become a hot topic in the police department.
