Crime Branch Arrests Man for Cheating Multiple Women with False Marriage Promises

A man from Chhendipada area of Anugul district, identified as Biranchi Narayan Nath, has been arrested by the Crime Branch for allegedly defrauding multiple women through matrimonial sites.

Targeting Vulnerable Women

Biranchi Narayan Nath allegedly pretended to be a railway employee, an IT inspector, or a customs officer to defraud women seeking a second marriage, widows, and middle-aged divorcees. He specifically targeted vulnerable women on matrimonial websites, taking advantage of their trust to exploit them financially and emotionally.

Mode of Operation

The accused initially formed relationships with these women over the telephone. Once they were convinced, he would visit them and promise them a lifetime partnership. After gaining their trust, he allegedly recorded intimate videos and used them to extract money from the victims.

Multiple Complaints

Several women have come forward, accusing Biranchi Narayan Nath of not only physical abuse but also financial fraud. The Crime Branch has taken him into custody and is investigating the scope of his fraudulent activities.
