Sambalpur: A tragic incident occurred in Sakhipada, within the Dhanupali police station area of Sambalpur, where a minor boy reportedly committed suicide due to threats from his girlfriend’s family.
Details of the Incident
The boy, a Class 10 student, took his life at around 7 p.m. by hanging himself with a scarf at home. Reports say he was in a relationship with a minor girl from a local family of Sakhipada.

Confrontation and Threats
Today, while the two met, the girl’s family intervened and allegedly beat the boy. They also issued severe threats to him. Feeling scared and distressed after this encounter, the boy went home and, as alleged, took his own life.
Police Investigation
The police arrived at the scene and took the body for post-mortem. Investigators have started probing the case to determine the exact circumstances leading to the suicide.
