Decomposed Body of Missing Girl Discovered
Sambalpur: A 17-year-old girl from the Town police station area in Bargarh district had been missing since the 20th of this month. Today, the police found her decomposed body in a forest near a fishing point on the banks of the Hirakud reservoir in Sambalpur district.
Boyfriend Confesses to Crime
During police interrogation, the victim’s boyfriend admitted that he and his friend took the girl to a forest near the Hirakud reservoir. There, they sexually assaulted her and then brutally murdered her. Based on his confession, the Bargarh police, with the help of Burla police, searched the forest and recovered the body. The police also successfully arrested the accused’s accomplice.
Senior Officers Investigate the Crime Scene
Several senior officers, including Bargarh SDPO Padaravind Tripathi, Bargarh Town Police Officer Satyajit Kandelkar, and Burla Police Officer Soumyakant Baliyarsingh, arrived at the crime scene this morning to investigate. A forensic team collected blood samples and other important evidence from the location.
