‘Mo School Abhiyan’ renamed and Implemented as ‘Panchasakha Shiksha Setu’; Aims to Connect with Alumni
The Odisha state government is set to introduce the “Panchasakha Siksha Setu” program to enhance the quality of education and strengthen the foundation of schools. This new initiative replaces the previous “Mo School Abhiyan” and aims to engage alumni and community groups in school development.
Focus on Quality Education and Participation
The “Panchasakha Siksha Setu” initiative focuses on improving education quality and infrastructure by involving old students, organizations, and social groups. Under this program, alumni, local foundations, institutions, and corporate entities will contribute to the development of schools. Contributions can range from financial assistance and materials to other forms of service for the school’s progress.
Transition from “Mo School Abhiyan”
The former “Mo School Abhiyan” has been renamed and revamped as the “Panchasakha Siksha Setu.” All assets and resources from the old program will be transferred to the new organization. The School and Mass Education Department confirmed the change in a recent announcement.
Governance and Structure
The organization will have a structured approach for efficient management.
- State-Level Leadership: The Chief Secretary will chair the governing body and guide its activities.
- Committees: The organization will include a Governing Body, Board of Advisors, and an Executive Committee to oversee daily operations.
At the district level, the District Collector will lead the committee, while a state-level committee will operate under the Secretary of the School and Mass Education Department.
