Sambalpur: Mr. and Miss India Competition to be Held for the First Time in Sambalpur; 450 Contestants and 150 Officials to Participate

Sambalpur to Host National-Level Event

Sambalpur: Sambalpur will host Mr. India and Miss India competition for the first time in April. After completing district-level contests across different regions and a state-level event in Puri, the national-level competition will take place at PHD Ground in Sambalpur.

Organizers and Participants

The Sambalpur District Bodybuilders and Fitness Association is organizing the competition. The state-level event in Puri will be hosted by the Shreekhetra Bodybuilders Association. The mega event in Sambalpur will feature 450 contestants, including both male and female participants.

Huge Investment and High-Profile Presence

To successfully conduct the event, 150 officials will visit Sambalpur. The organizers expect the event to cost around 30 lakh rupees. The announcement was made during a press conference held by the Sambalpur District Bodybuilders Association on Wednesday.

Key personalities present at the event included Santosh Mohanty, President of the Kalinga Bodybuilding Association; Manas Swain, Vice-President; Nishant Bohidar, Joint Secretary; Balakrishna Bag, Executive Secretary; Satish Bishi, President of the Sambalpur Bodybuilding Association; Amitabh Parida, Secretary; GG Joseph, Vice-President; and Bhola Mohatam, Executive Member.

District-Level Competitions and Final Selection

The district-level event will take place at Durga Mandap near Burla. Contestants securing the top three positions in the Mr. India and Miss India competitions will get the opportunity to represent India at the Mr. World and Miss World competitions in August.

Past Achievements and Future Goals

Last year, the Sambalpur District Bodybuilders and Fitness Association successfully organized the Mr. Odisha and Miss Odisha competitions. This year’s event is expected to be even bigger.

The competition is happening with strong backing from the Sambalpur District Bodybuilders and Fitness Association, thanks to the long-term vision of former MLA Dr. Rasheshwari Panigrahi, who has supported the event for a long time.
