New Delhi Ready To Welcome World Leaders For Global Meet G20 Summit 2023
G20 Summit: The mega meet will mark the culmination of India’s year-long G20 presidency and one of the highest-profile international events New Delhi has hosted in years.
Leaders from around the world will be heading to New Delhi for the G20 Summit on September 9-10. Grand arrangements have been made to host the heads of States and their delegations in the national capital. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be welcoming the leaders of all countries individually at the newly-inaugurated Bharat Mandapam at Pragati Maidan where he will also host a lunch on Saturday followed by a gala dinner hosted by the President.
The mega meet will mark the culmination of India’s year-long G20 presidency where nations will share their commitments towards solving issues affecting the nations. The Group of Twenty also known as the G20 includes Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Republic of Korea, Mexico, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Turkey, United Kingdom, and the United States and the European Union.
The entire area of New Delhi district will be considered as “Controlled Zone-I” from the morning of September 8 till September 10. Only bona fide residents, authorised vehicles and vehicles dealing with housekeeping, catering, waste management etc. for hotels, hospitals and other important installations in the district will be allowed to travel on C-Hexagon, India Gate and other roads.
All schools, colleges and offices will remain closed across Delhi from September 8 to September 10 in view of the G20 Summit in the national capital.
