No Zero Night Celebration due to Covid Guidelines
Like last year, the New Year’s Eve celebration will fade. There will be no Zero Night celebrations in the state this time. This is stated in the December Covid Guidelines issued by the state government on Tuesday. The government has taken such a step in anticipation of an increase in corona infections. As per the guidelines, Zero night is prohibited in hotels, restaurants, clubs and parks on December 31 for the New Year. Celebrations such as theaters, welfare mandapas, etc. are also prohibited. The government also banned picnics on December 31 and January 1. Elsewhere, large numbers of people have been barred from celebrating zero night. The state government has taken such a decision in view of the fact that due to the large crowds in ZeroNight, various cultural events and worship festivals have been cut this year due to the corona.
The state government has begun taking steps to prevent the spread of infections due to the new version of Corona. Guidelines issued by the Office of the Special Relief Commissioner (SRC) will remain in force from December 1 to January 1. As before, night duty will be in effect in all urban areas from 10pm to 5am. There can be no social, religious or political program. Trade fairs and exhibitions will also be closed. Travel and cultural events can accommodate a maximum of 2,50 people with the permission of the local administration. The cinema hall will run at 50% seat capacity under the Covid. With a maximum of 250 people involved in outdoor activities, rites and ceremonies, the state government has taken such a decision in view of the high crowds in ZeroNight.
