Odisha Government Announces Positive Changes in Salaries for Various Professionals
Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik announced a variety of positive updates, including raised pay for Law officials, Anganwadi workers, and Teachers in the state.
Boost for Law Officers:
The State Government has decided to increase the daily and retainer payments for non-cadre law officers, benefiting 1,215 professionals. Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik announced that the daily fees for 184 additional public prosecutors will rise from Rs 1,250 to Rs 1,875, while their retainer fees will rise from Rs 8,200 to Rs 12,300. Assistant Public Prosecutors and Special Public Prosecutors will also get salary increases, providing better compensation for their valuable services.
Salary Increase for Anganwadi Workers:
In another positive development, the monthly payment for anganwadi workers has been increased from Rs 7,500 to Rs 10,000, helping these important community workers. Mini-anganwadi workers will now receive Rs 7,250, up from Rs 5,378, while anganwadi sahayikas will see an increase from Rs 3,750 to Rs 5,000.
Gana Sikhyakas Receive Recognition:
Acknowledging the vital role of Gana Sikhyakas, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has made significant decisions to benefit 12,113 educators in the state. Following proposals made during district visits, the Chief Minister approved the regularization of teachers who passed the OTET exam as Med Teachers (Ex Cadre), benefiting 1,472 teachers. Those who haven’t passed OTET will now receive an increased monthly remuneration from Rs. 7,000 to Rs. 10,000, benefiting 1,121 Gana Sikhyakas. Additionally, 9,520 Assistant Teachers (Ex Cadre) who passed the OTET exam will now receive annual increments.
