“One who is sheltered by God cannot be killed by anyone”, Rani Singh became the hope of light for her family
Bhubaneswar: Rani Singh, a tribal girl studying in class 10, was one of the attractions of the ‘Kanak News Maker-2023’ special event held today. Rani’s life story in brief is like this: It was becoming difficult for her father Pitambar Singh to arrange enough food. As a daily wage, both the husband and wife used to earn. But on the day when the father’s hand was cut off in an accident, a black cloud came over the family. He lost his hand and lost his job. The situation became such that the 4 people did not know how to arrange food to eat.
At that time, Rani who was studying in the 10th grade, came forward with her strong morale, creativity, and will. Born in a tribal area, Rani started a YouTube blog about the food, drink, accommodation, dance, songs, and festivals of her native tribe with the help of an ordinary mobile phone. People liked him and overnight she became a household name. Today, Rani earns 20,000 rupees a month and runs her family. This story of Rani Singh of Pushpandisahir, Anandpur block, Keonjhar district, has become a source of inspiration for others today.
Rani studies at Abdulpura High School in Jajpur district. A few years later, after the loss of Pitambar’s hand, his wife Ira Singh, son, and daughter Rani returned to the village. It was difficult to support the family because of the lack of income. Since Rani and her brother knew how to make money by making blogs on YouTube, they wanted to make money by making a blog on a mobile phone, but neither they had nor his father had the money to buy a smartphone. Pitambar bought a smartphone for Rani taking his old salary from his boss. Both brothers and sisters opened a channel on YouTube called “Tribe Blogger Rani”. She makes videos one by one about the activities of her community. Now the channel has 7 million 6 thousand subscribers. 32 crores 74 lakhs 14 thousand 978 views in their account. Videos have been well watched and appreciated by the viewers and viewers also like to see Rani’s simple lifestyle. That is why the family has now returned to Jajpur. “We first started a YouTube channel called ‘Indian Tribal Lifestyle’,” says Rani. But she could not give time for it due to her studies. So later a new channel called ‘Tribe Blogger Rani’ was opened this year. YouTube is also getting a little slow now as I can’t make more videos. We will do the video again after the 10th exam. I aim to be a good person.”
