The Sawan month, also known as Shravan month, is considered auspicious among Hindus. It begins on July 4, 2023, and stretches up to two months due to Adhik Maas Shravan. Devotees worship Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati with devotion and observe fasts on every Somwar. Unmarried females observe Mangla Gauri Vrat and some also observe solah somwar vrat to seek blessings from Lord Shiva.

Sawan 2023: Significance

Shravana month is considered to be the most auspicious month. Devotees offer prayers to Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati. They observe fast on each sawan somwar, worship Lord Shiva with pure intention and dedication. Unmarried female observe Mangala Gauri Vrat on each Tuesday which occur in sawan month. Some female devotees also observe solah somwar vrat (Sixteen Mondays) to get a desired husband and they seek blessings from Lord Shiva.
