Sambalpur: A scandal has erupted in Sambalpur after a female student from a prominent educational institution accused the institution’s chairman and staff of sexual harassment and abuse. In a shocking open letter addressed to the Chief Minister, the student claimed that the chairman had subjected her and several others to mental and physical abuse. Student Alleges Sexual Advances by Chairman

He allegedly made inappropriate physical advances and suggested they start a physical relationship, promising academic support in exchange. When she refused, the chairman allegedly told her that she needed to stay at his house and serve him for at least six months before she could pursue higher education. Because of her refusal, the student claims she has been harassed and sidelined for the past three years.

Chairman Accused of Misusing Government Quarters
The student also claimed that the chairman continues to engage in immoral behavior at his government-provided residence, despite being married. She claims that the chairman’s family no longer lives with him because of his unethical behavior. During the COVID-19 pandemic, the chairman allegedly kept some female students at his government quarters under the guise of shelter but used them for his own purposes. Two students allegedly fled the premises, fearing for their safety. The chairman purposefully ruined their academic futures as a result.
Staff Involvement in Misconduct
The letter also names several other members of the institution’s staff, including a long-serving clerk, a peon, and some female teachers, as complicit in the chairman’s actions. The student claimed that these individuals helped facilitate the chairman’s unethical behavior by ensuring that no one spoke out against him. The student accused two female teachers of helping the chairman commit these immoral acts.

The letter also mentions that the chairman silenced two other faculty members who attempted to protest his misconduct. The institution appears to be maintaining a facade of normalcy while concealing serious wrongdoings.
