Penalty Alert: Double Fee for Vehicles Without FASTag, NHAI Warns Drivers
Drivers who knowingly fail to affix a FASTag to their vehicle’s front windshield will face severe penalties. Such drivers will be charged twice the fee. In this regard, the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has issued guidelines. Vehicles must have the FASTag affixed to the inside of the front windshield. However, some drivers disregard this rule, resulting in unnecessary delays at toll gates and inconvenience for others. Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) have been issued to agencies that collect user fees.
