Sambalpur: Police on High Alert After Murshidabad Violence; Strict Entry Ban on Infiltrators, Police Forces Deployed at All Entry Points

Sambalpur on High Alert

Sambalpur: After the recent violence in Murshidabad and the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, authorities have placed Sambalpur on high alert. Police have tightened surveillance and are actively checking all suspicious vehicles at three key locations: Sasan Toll Plaza, Godbhaga, and near Hatibari. To ensure no suspicious individuals enter the city or the district, police forces have been deployed at these checkpoints. According to Sadar SDPO Tofan Bagh, the administration is closely monitoring all entry points.

Cow Smuggling and Murshidabad Connection

In the past few days, cow smuggling through Sambalpur roads has increased. As a result, the police previously encountered and confronted two cattle smugglers. Moreover, two individuals were recently arrested from Jharsuguda for their involvement in the Murshidabad incident. Following these events, the alert level in Sambalpur has been raised even further.

Infiltration Fears Through Labor Channels

Many laborers from the Murshidabad area are currently working in Sambalpur, mostly in construction-related jobs. Because of this, the police suspect that some criminals might be using this route to infiltrate the city. Therefore, they have blocked all major entry routes into Sambalpur. At the same time, they are thoroughly inspecting every vehicle entering the area to prevent any unlawful entry.
